September is National Childhood Obesity Month and Fruits & Veggies Matter More Month. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) recommends a fruit and vegetable daily intake of at least 5 servings a day; 1.5-2 cups of fruit and 2-3 cups of vegetables for adults. For children ages 2-18, the recommended intake is 1-2 cups of fruit and 1-3 cups of vegetables.
