Promoting health where we live, learn, work, and play.
The Healthy St. Lucie Coalition formed in June of 2015, while working to develop a Community Health Improvement Plan. Healthy St. Lucie brings together diverse organizations and individuals to identify solutions for barriers to being healthy. Today, more than 44 organizations and community representatives actively participate in the Coalition to improve the well-being of our residents.
In partnership with the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County, the Coalition guides a community health assessment every 3-5 years to evaluate progress on our current plan and recommends changes for the next plan by resetting priorities and identifying actions to be taken to improve resident health. The Coalition then guides the process to ensure that the objectives laid out in the plan are met.
Sub-committees implement the impacting strategies and evaluate progress in their associated priority areas. These include:
- Age Friendly Workgroup
- Breastfeeding Workgroup
- Food Council
- Physical Activity Council
- Safe Kids Coalition of the Treasure Coast
- Tobacco Free Partnership of St. Lucie
