Staying active means staying healthy and should be an important part of your every day routine. Moving more helps keep off weight, keep joints healthy, and keeps the cardiovascular system working. It can lower blood sugar and increase flexibility as you age. Healthy St. Lucie is hosting a Billion Steps Challenge to encourage all residents of St. Lucie County to be active. We are in Year 2 of the challenge and our goal as a community is to collectively accrue one billions steps from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
Healthy St. Lucie is using an online platform, Walker Tracker, to create an online community of St. Lucie County residents who strive to be more active. You can log your daily steps and keep an eye on how our county is doing overall. Don’t worry if you don’t like to walk for exercise!Walker Tracker offers over 100 different types of physical activity that can be converted to steps right inside their app.
