Staying active means staying healthy and should be an important part of your every day routine. Moving more helps keep off weight, keep joints healthy, and keeps the cardiovascular system working. It can lower blood sugar and increase flexibility as you age. Healthy St. Lucie is hosting a Billion Steps Challenge in 2018 to encourage all residents of St. Lucie County to be active. The goal of the challenge is for our community to collectively accrue one billions steps by December 31, 2018.
To reach this goal, Healthy St. Lucie is using an online platform, Walker Tracker, to create an online community of St. Lucie County residents working towards becoming more active this year. Through Walker Tracker you will able be able to log your daily steps toward the challenge while keeping up with how our county is doing overall. And don’t worry if you don’t like to walk for exercise. Walker Tracker offers over 100 different types of physical activity that can be converted to steps right inside their app.
Registration for the challenge will be open all year to allow as many residents to participate as possible. Click HERE now to participate in the Billion Steps challenge-we can’t do it without you!
