According to the National Institutes of Health, alcoholic beverages are high in calories, but low in nutrients and may lead to unhealthy weight. The National Institutes of Health offers this free drink calorie calculator to show you the calories you consume per week from alcohol beverages.

Jennifer has over 17 years of public health experience and is currently the Community Health Promotions Director with the Florida Department of Health-St. Lucie County. She coordinates the Healthy St. Lucie Coalition and oversees the implementation of our Community Health Improvement Plan. Jennifer also manages Teen Zone, an adolescent reproductive health clinic. She supervises Safe Kids, an injury prevention program for children, and the local Tobacco Prevention Program. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking local parks, taking a variety of art classes, and spending time with family and friends.
